Distance: Palenque to Santo Domingo 143 km.
Description: Single buoy mooring for tankers
Navigation: 24 hrs.
Maximum draft and LOA: 1,000’, draft 45’
Anchorage: Pilot will indicate best location on request.
Pilotage procedures: Pilotage is compulsory and can be arranged 24 hours a day. Pilot can be contacted on VHF Channels 16 and 14. Pilot boards about 1 mile southwest of SBM from a small tug with black hull and white superstructure.
Pilot station: 1 mile from seabuoy
Towage: Available and compulsory. Also, a small tug carries crew and gear required, etc.
Working hours: Mon−Fri 08:00−12:00 and 14:00−18:00. Sat 08:00−12:00
Water: None.
Bunkers: None
Ship repair: Some shore facilities for minor repairs are available. Further repair shops available in Santo Domingo.
Medical facilities: Only extreme emergency and minor care available locally; serious cases must be treated in Santo Domingo, where full hospitalization facilities are available.
Airport: Las Americas Int’l Airport located approximately 100 km from the port.
